September 30, 2025
Our guest speakers were Gayle Karolczyk and Nora Krasowski of RCCF Grant Recipients the CharlestonLIFE Program at the College of Charleston. They gave us information on this four-year, fully inclusive non-degree certificate program for students with mild intellectual and/or developmental disabilities (IDD). Through it, students learn to be self-determined and independent and thrive in a fully inclusive environment. A key to the program is enabling students to be fully immersed in the traditional college lifestyle and receive the full benefit of the CoC 4 year experience with no stigmas or exclusion. For more information on this program, see this video.
Lots of great stuff going on in the Club . Check the Keyway for more info.

Rotary Educator of the Month Program
Our Rotary Club this week inaugurated another year of support of education in Charleston by recognizing the September Educator of the Month at Mitchell Elementary. This month’s honoree is Sandy Feinberg. Ms. Feinberg is always helpful in dealing with students. She takes time to talk with families and ensure all bases are covered. She has done a great job balancing co-teaching at two different grade levels with two different teachers. She ensures that all scholars get what they need to be successful. Sadly, we said good bye to Monica Guevara. Ms. Guevara is the guidance counselor who has accompanied the teachers to our meetings for a long time, but she is moving to Virginia. We wish her the best of luck.

The Rotary Club of Charleston will continue to highlight members twice a month. Members who are interested in being spotlighted should let Julianne Farnsworth know of your interest and she will assign you a date. Members who want to be spotlighted need to let me know of your interest and I will assign you a date. At the assigned meeting, you will have approximately 2 minutes to tell the Rotary Club membership about yourself. You can use visual aids and/or just talk about yourself. Please take advantage of this wonderful opportunity to “spotlight” you and your personal and professional achievements. Rotary International 2025/2026 Theme: Unite for Good
The 2025-26 presidential message, announced at the 2025 Rotary International Assembly in February, will remain Unite for Good, which calls on Rotary members to be a force for unity in a world increasingly divided by politics, geography, and ideology. Through service projects, Rotary brings together people of every background — across races, religions, and professions — in a shared mission to do good in their communities.
